Congrats to Bravo’s Athlete in the Spotlight, Faith Anker!! Despite only crossfitting for a little over 5 months, Faith has made incredible progress. She recently PRed her weighted pullup at 15lbs only a short time after getting her first unassisted pullup. Through hard work and consistency her endurance and skills have grown tremendously. One of the hardest workers in the gym, Faith also makes some great Paleo chocolate-chip cookies….ask her about it….they are amazing.
Date you started at Bravo CF: November 2013
Day job: My main focus right now is studying nursing. During the day I’m also a substitute teacher at an elementary school and a lifeguard. At night I’m a waitress.
Favorite CrossFit movement: Hmmm… Cleans, Snatches, Deadlifts, Squats…… Anything with a barbell really.
Least favorite CrossFit movement: I HATE Wallballs!!! Jumping Rope is a close 2nd.
Athletic background: As a child I was a competitive swimmer. I did it as a baby till I was 16. Later on I did Gymnastics for a few years. Hurt my elbow pretty bad when I was 14. Then I was a cheerleader all through High school and College.
What comes easily to you in CrossFit? Nothing comes easy for me….maybe handstands…..lol
What is your biggest challenge with CrossFit? Developing my upper body strength.
What do you love most about Bravo CF? The people I have met and the family atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly and inviting. I love how everyone pushes each other to be better and better.
What made you decide to start CrossFit? My two best Friends Natalie and Michelle were ALWAYS talking about it. They told me once you walk in you will never look back. They were absolutely right!!
