Leading researchers agree that aerobic activities, such as Crossfit, may help treat depression, improve memory, alleviate of mental and physical pain and improve the process of Neurogenesis (the growth and development of nervous tissue)!
In John Medina’s book, Brain Rules, his first “brain rule” is exercise. Studies have shown that 2-3 days of exercise a week, over a lifetime may cut your risk of developing both demential and Alzheimer’s in half.
Exercise improves cognition for two reasons:
- Oxygen flow to the brain is increased during exercising, which reduces brain-bound free radicals.
- Exercise acts directly on the molecular machinery of the brain itself by Neurogenesis. It increases the development of nervous tissue path ways, survival, and resistance to damage and stress.
In short, not only will Crossfit make your body EPIC, it will also keep you sane in an insane world!

I do it as a therapy. I do it as something to keep me alive. We all need a little discipline. Exercise is my discipline.
